How to read the “New” Market Report:

Since the Market News Service will be terminated on June 30, 2012, and there are no Market Reporters currently covering our market, we will be using the Market Report System on our auction sale program.  This is NOT a “weighted” program, simply highs and lows of weight ranges of animals with an average.  The “average price” given is a valuable number and worth reporting.  It will give you the average price on that weight range of animals.  It throws out the highs and lows and gives you a good idea of what animals are worth at that weight.  Our system is tweaked already to throw out any extreme lows on odd cattle or defective cattle, so you are getting fair representation of cattle in that weight range.  It’s not perfect, but it does report ALL cattle sold on the sale date, and gives a good idea of what they’re worth.
